The Lotte Daegu central plaza excels architecturally.

The Lotte Daegu central plaza excels in the architectural vision having omnidirectional facades, all facades are central and in that way create an amphi theatre, a stage where the latest shopping can be experienced, almost like a test run, a catwalk. The sculptural art becomes an actor(s) and the visitors both audience and part takers. We suggest concepts that mirror back these surroundings and plays with what the shopping experience ultimately is - a mirror to your personality. There two main concepts shown: 01. A series of spinning tops populating the art foot print, something to play with in the different ways they mirror or spatial to experience. 01b. Is a singular, large version of the Spinning top, with a fluted spiral pattern the gives the static sculpture visual movement. The way it tilts is both familiar an unnerving and calls upon childhood memories while staying true to the luxurious experience the mall is. 02. A large undulated disc, creating a tapestry mirror experience, a patch work of the surroundings. After dark this piece becomes central to the architecture becoming one big canvas, bathed in light reflections from the lamps lighting the are and cat back on the walls. This is a highly effective, yet analog and low maintenance effect.

Made in stainless coated in either a high-grade fluoropolymer paint (like Lumiflon) or a specialized pigmented ceramic-matrix composite coating. This provides the warm, multi-tonal aesthetic while sealing the steel completely against rain, UV rays, and public wear.
